You probably know this phrase:
Today, November 12, 2021, marks the last day of the Climate Summit COP26 in Glasgow.
Over the last months, we have also looked into the mirror and discussed what we can do more ourselves, apart from helping our clients to improve vessel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions from shipping.
How can we reduce our footprint as a company?
Next week, we will move to a new office location. Apart from moving to one of the world's maritime hotspots, we also like the office to reflect our values.
Our new office is located inside a monumental building, within 1 minute walk from the Rotterdam central train station, allowing us to travel by public transport or travel the Dutch way to work, by bike. Also, we will offer all our staff a public transport pass, while limiting the number of company cars.
Of course, we made sure our new office has an A-rating in energy efficiency and 3 stars score on the sustainability index BREEAM-NL (‘Very Good’).
Along with continuing our current way of flexible working, limited traveling, including web meetings with clients, we aim to reduce emissions from traveling. It also helps that we can now visit some of of our clients by bike.
In line with our company values, we have chosen for a space that supports collaboration. Our office is part of the "Kleinhandel" concept, a new creative co-working space. A place with over 80 companies, full of creative builders and innovative spirits.
And, despite being a building in Rotterdam Central District, we will enjoy the green, 7000 m2 roof terraces that this location offers.
We trust that this new location inspires us even more to boost efficiency in the shipping industry.
